What is a Mold Inspection?
Mold inspections accomplish several things. The primary goal of mold detection is to identify hidden moisture in the home. The source of the water leak or the cause of high humidity must be identified and controlled. If this is not properly addressed, new mold growth may occur.
That is why, in most cases, Mold and Mildew Solutions performs moisture mapping and visual mold detection, and notes conditions that may support water or mold problems before the removal of mold or water restoration begins. Mold & Mildew Solutions uses techniques such as moisture mapping, temperature readings, and humidity readings to develop a comprehensive view of the situation. These techniques allow your mold professional to look at the mold situation from a moisture standpoint, a visual standpoint, and in a scientific manner. In some cases, we can use thermal readings with an infrared camera, or if necessary, scope into a confined cavity.
Please note that we must have the property owner’s permission to use these techniques. A mold inspection may take up to an hour and a half or more. We look at the situation from every angle and level. We analyze whether the property is operating as efficiently as possible. If necessary, we will recommend that an industry-related professional, such as a foundation specialist, a roofer, or a heating and air conditioning company, be called. Our inspectors are not salesmen and are not trying to sell you unnecessary procedures or products. They will, however, recommend procedures that are based on current standards in the restoration industry. Our main concern is the health of your occupants, and we are determined to make your property a clean and healthy space.
