What is a Mold Inspection?

What is a Mold Inspection? When it comes to mold inspections, we are trying to accomplish several things. The first goal of mold detection is to locate the hidden moisture in the home. The water leak or cause of high humidity must be discovered and controlled. If this is not properly addressed, new mold growth may re-occur. That is why in most cases Mold and Mildew Solutions LLC performs moisture mapping, visual mold detection and notes conditions that may support water or mold problems before the removal of mold or water restoration begins. Mold & Mildew Solutions LLC uses techniques such as moisture mapping, temperature readings and humidity readings to develop a comprehensive view of the situation. These techniques allow your mold professional to look at the mold situation from a moisture standpoint, visual standpoint, and in a scientific manner. In some cases, we have the ability to use thermal readings with an infrared camera, or if necessary, scope into a confined cavity. Please note that we must have the property owners' permission in order to use these techniques. A mold inspection may take up to one hour and a half or more. We take a look at the situation from every angle and level. We look to see if the property is operating correctly or as efficiently as possible. At times we may need to recommend an industry-related professional, such as a foundation specialist, a roofer, or a heating and air conditioning company be called. Our inspectors are not salesmen, and are not trying to sell you unnecessary procedures or products, but will recommend procedures that are based on current standards in the restoration industry. Our main concern is the health of your occupants and will not fail you in helping in making the property a clean and healthy environment.

Can I Remove Mold Myself?

Some property owners may wonder if they can remove mold themselves. You can research this subject at www.EPA.org for help. It is recommended that a mold removal specialist, such as Mold & Mildew Solutions LLC, perform a mold inspection to verify if self-remediation, removal, can be done safely.
