I’m now several years into home ownership and experienced with working with contractors. In reality, what “experienced” means is “very very used to being disappointed” by how terrible most contractors are. It seems to be par for the course that contractors will not respond, will under deliver, over charge, and leave you with a headache (or a lawsuit if you’re really unlucky). I’m telling you, I could write 20 pages on some of the dumb stuff I’ve seen.
That said, this company is absolutely the exception. They respond in a timely manor, they do good work, charge a decent rate, and don’t surprise you with nonsense charges. It recently dawned on me that I can vividly remember most of my home projects except for the encapsulation one. It was so…uneventful. Its crazy. They dragged a huge industrial fan into my living room and ripped god knows what out of my crawl space and STILL nothing eventful happened. No damage, no mistakes. The crew was pleasant. We simply paid them money, and they did the job.
